DETAILS
Thank you for volunteering to help prepare our Native Plant Garden for the upcoming spring! We value your gardening skills and expertise! Teaneck Creek Conservancy needs a half-dozen volunteers to clean up in the Peace Labyrinth (its native plant garden) on March 22 from 1pm - 3pm. This will be the first cleanup of the season, so be prepared to rake. The address is 20 Puffin Way, Teaneck. Park in the lot; the Peace Labyrinth is a five-minute walk. Please feel free to come for the full time or any portion of the time. Let us know here what hours you plan on coming. BYO hand tools, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, refillable water bottle, and snacks if you’d like. Teaneck Creek Conservancy will supply large tools as needed and water for your refillable water bottle. Dress in layers with closed-toe shoes and a sunhat, as the area is fully exposed to the sun. Volunteers will learn about working in both shady wet sites and dry wet sites, as well as the wetland ecosystem. You’ll also discover what plants to cut back, and where, when, and why to prune. The event will be held in light rain or shine. We will contact all registrants if the event is cancelled due to extreme weather. The rain date is March 29, 1-3pm.
